Track Chisel - Square Cutter
Track Chisel - Square Cutter
The Track-Chisel - Square Cutter is nearly identical to the Round Cutter version in overall dimensions — 5-1/2 lb. weight, 1-3/8” cutting blade, 10-1/2” overall bit length. The primary difference is simply that the cutting blade is straight with squared corners.
Also referred to as a Nut Cutter in AREMA Plan #35, this chisel was traditionally used for just that — cutting seized nuts while maintaining or repairing railroad track in the field. It can be swung or positioned and then struck on its striking face with a sledge.
The Track Chisel - Square Cutter is drop-forged from Grade B alloy steel per AREMA specifications and available with a 24” hickory handle, 36” hickory handle with safety grip or as a tool only. Warwood is proud to manufacture our tools in the U.S. from only premium U.S.-sourced steel and hickory.
