Foundry Wedge

Historically used in combination with a striking tool to break risers and feeders away from parts in the metal casting process, hand foundry wedges have largely been replaced in manufacturing applications by advanced hydraulic devices costing many thousands of dollars. The traditional drop-forged version, though, remains in use for smaller scale casting shops and in other welding and metalworking applications, as well as for stoneworking.

The Warwood Tool Foundry Wedge measures 6” long, 1/2” thick and 1-1/4” wide, with a rounded tip and rectangular, chamfered head. Drop-forged from U.S. steel by American workers at our West Virginia shop, this tool represents a legacy of more than 170 years of Warwood craftsmanship.
