LEGACY Tomahawk - Ray Rybar
LEGACY Tomahawk - Ray Rybar
This fully functioning pipe tomahawk was created by ABS Mastersmith Ray Rybar to represent the rich history of the French and Indian War.
The tomahawk is styled after the spontoon which was meant primarily for fighting and piercing operations. He forged this piece from a single bar of mosaic damascus, then hot cut and folded back two parts of the blade to create a fleur-de-lis which showcases the French influence.
The wool strap at the base of the handle was from one of the last remaining trading posts which was set up during the French and Indian War. Ray attached elk teeth along with a Native American styled medallion to tie out this historically significant piece of art. The medallion represents the four cardinal directions of North/South and East/West.
