Team 2 Tomahawk - Vincent & Bo Armenta
Vincent and Bo Armenta are Native American Indians and members of the Chumash Tribe from Santa Ynez, California. The brothers created a one-of-a-kind tomahawk set that is not to be missed.
They forged these using the ancient blacksmithing tradition of wrapping a piece of low-carbon steel around the horn of the anvil and forge welding a high-carbon bit in the center to form the cutting edge. Both of them acid washed the blades after hardening and used curly maple handles to finish them off. Where the brothers took their handles in a different direction was with the final touches: Bo worked to carve his handle while Vincent inlaid silver which is designed after two petroglyphs found in a cave near Santa Ynez.
These tomahawks are being auctioned off as a set and they are both stamped as follows: ARMENTA BROTHERS, UqWANA'N WAS̃, CHUMASH RESERVATION
"UqWANA'N WAS̃" is from the Samala language and translates: "To make something with hands". It is the native language of the Chumash tribe.
