At Warwood Tool, we're happy to announce that we’ve awarded our inaugural Trail Builder Grant to West Liberty University in support of their outdoor education and conservation initiatives.
As part of the grant, we donated over 50 professional-grade trail tools — including rock bars, Pulaski axes, forest adze hoes and picks. These tools will be used by students and faculty involved in trail building, land restoration and outdoor education on campus and throughout the region.

The team at West Liberty shared how these tools will directly support their work maintaining and enhancing the Campus Woods Trail system. The trails offer far more than outdoor recreation—they’re a resource for academic research, hands-on learning, and even athletic training. We're excited to support their work and see the long-term impact it will have not only on the students, but also on the broader community that utilizes and enjoys the trail system year-round.
In recognition of the many outstanding submissions received, we’ve also decided to award a limited cache of tools to four additional nonprofits leading impactful trail projects across the country, including Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (Raleigh, N.C.), Gallatin Valley Land Trust (Bozeman, Mont.), Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (Asheville, N.C.) and Tarheel Trailblazers (Charlotte, N.C.).

Each organization was selected for its commitment to sustainable land use, community engagement, and the preservation of outdoor spaces for future generations. We are honored to partner with these dedicated teams and look forward to continuing our support of trail builders nationwide.
